Skjoldehamn Gugel Tyr in wool blend
The pattern for this gugel is based on the discovery of a bog body, still dressed and wrapped in a woolen blanket, on the Skjoldehamn farm in Andöya, Norway.
The exact age remains unclear to this day and, according to recent research, points to the 11th century.
Also the sex of the bog body dressed with the Viking Gugel is not to be answered with 100% whereby up-to-date of a woman is to be assumed. In "modern times" Skjoldehamn Gugeln are worn by both women and men.
The wolf embroidery is not part of the find and is only an artistic addition.
